Tenure Track/Tenured Assistant, Associate or Professor Positions in the Field of Materials Science and Engineering

Position Available: The position is to be filled at any level of the Sharif University of Technology tenure track system (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). The position is full-time and depends on the tenure track positioning, either on a fixed or permanent term. As an academic faculty, you will establish and lead your own research group, and you will contribute to teaching at BSc, MSc, and doctoral level.

Date of Appointment: A 12-month contract will be offered preferably commencing on July 1, 2021. The salary is determined based on applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Qualifications: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in materials science, materials engineering, or a closely related field by the time of employment and they are expected to provide evidence of an active research program as well as the evidence of teaching experience and interest in directing student research. Priority will be given to candidates with postdoctoral experience and/or those who demonstrated interest in pursuing external funding. We welcome applications in all fields of MSE but Physical Metallurgy, Extractive Metallurgy, Hot corrosion, Advanced Metal Forming and Welding/Joining Techniques, Electronic Materials and Advanced Ceramics, Nanomaterials and Biomaterials are prioritized.

About the Department: MSE department (formerly metallurgical engineering) was among the original departments established at SUT. Considering that SUT was initially founded to provide and train technical staff for Iran’s iron and steel industry, it should come as no surprise that MSE department has always been one of the cornerstones of SUT. MSE department of SUT ranks 1st in different international university ranking systems in the national level and it is among the top 200-250 departments globally.
